A Late Father's Day

All through the years your memory has lingered
here in my heart.
A life that was cut short before your time.
You were only forty two.
I am left here to look back on all the Father's Days
I didn't have you here with me Dad.
It has caused a deep seeded sadness in my heart
through out the years.
The times I would like to talk to you,

No one to walk me down the Isle.
When my children came along,
I miss the twinkle that would have been in your eyes.
Oh the pride I know you would have taken to have been their grandpa.
My life has moved on without you.
I know you are one of my guardian angels up in heaven,
in my heart I know you look down on all seven of us.
You send your blessing that only a loving Dad could give.
Dad rest in peace and wait someday God will open the gates,
then what a Father's Day we will have even though it will be late.
