The Most Romantic Song Ever - "For The Lady" - Ross La Vel

The Flood

A flood came to our hollow.
Nobody seem to be bothered.
It wash away all the earth around us
just leaving a big rock.
A flood came and no one wanted to follow.
A knock came to our doors
no one wanted to hear.
The stranger said I have been on this road a long time,
but most of us turned him away.
No offer of food or a bed to lay his head.
A sad situation when no one saw the beads of sweat,
or cared that he was sick.
The stranger was cold and all along.
What did we do turned a deaf ear not wanting to hear
turned a blind eye not wanting to see?
We showed no feelings of what is right or wrong
just as long as everything is right in our world.
We showed no light to the one who needed it.
Yes a flood came to our hollow.
I wonder who it  was that saw that stranger
the one who was begging for help to feed his family.
I wonder if it had been our Lord would we gave away to him or
just turn him away too!
What words would come out of our mouths
would we say go on your way move on go down south,
I think the flood came today to shake up the trees, the bees, and most of all us.

I wrote this in memory of a great man my Dad who die when I was sixteen but the same summer he die and a man came around begging for food My Dad gather up garden food and gave him five dollars that was all he had at the time. My dad passed away in July of that same year and about two weeks after that the man came back to thank my Dad and tell him how much he had help him, We never no when God will send one of his angels to see if our hearts are right were they should be this memory has growed with me through out the years. I know they are scams artist out there but there might just be that one time they are real let us not judge so unkind for God has his eyes on all of us.
