Last night as I lay sleeping
I had a dream
A dream that gave me a beep into
The future that is not so bright
The elderly and the disabled
Are paying a price for retiring or being ill
America were is your voice
Are you at some point not going to retire?
Or maybe get injured or become ill
Americans have been known to fight for
What is right, please show me the right in this?
A comprise that sold our elderly and disabled
Out they will not receive any cost of living raises
And oh yes make them pay more on their Medicare
As if they are not paying enough.
Lights need to be shined down on what is right
Voices need to speak up to protest the things
We do not like.
This is America the great and beautiful
People we have the right to do this
This is what our country was found on
One word comes to mind freedom of speech
If we do not like what our elected people are doing
Speak out write letters make phone calls
Because the day is going to come
When we have no say
Because we have got lazy and in some ways do not care
About the things that have made our country great.
Our elderly worked to
keep this country free for all of us
Now what are we doing for them? We are
taking away their living and just as same as saying
You do not need to live anymore
America I know everyone has an elderly parent or family
Member some do without medicines because they
Have to choose either buy medicines or go without
food.
Why should they pay just to balance a budget?
That they did not make?
